Details of the Dalian University Scholarship:
For the 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship – Silk-Road Program and the Chinese Government Scholarship – High Level Postgraduate Program, Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is accepting Master’s and PhD candidates.
For master’s and doctorate students, the scholarship study period lasts three and four years, respectively. While some of these courses are offered in Chinese, others are taught in English.
The Ministry of Education, P.R.C., established the Chinese Government Scholarship-High Level Postgraduate Program and the Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk-Road Program, which are full scholarships that allow universities to directly choose and recruit exceptional young international students to pursue postgraduate degrees in China.
Qualifications for the Dalian University Scholarship in 2025
To be eligible for the scholarship offered by Dalian University:
• Candidates must be healthy non-Chinese nationals.
• Age restriction and educational background:
o Candidates for master’s degree programs must be under 35 and hold a bachelor’s degree.
o Candidates for doctoral programs must be under 40 and hold a master’s degree.
• Language requirement: The department and final tutor for Ph.D. and Master’s applicants may assess your language proficiency based on an interview or written exam.
• The Chinese-taught curriculum requires an HSK certificate (within two years):
HSK 4 180 or higher is required for majors in science, technology, management, and economics; HSK 5 180 or higher is required for degrees in philosophy, humanities, and social sciences.
•The English-taught curriculum requires an English certification:
Candidates who used English as the language of instruction during their previous educational background should submit a language certificate from their previous educational institutions in lieu of a TOEFL or IELTS transcript, where the score should ideally be 80 or higher and the IELTS score should be 5.5 or higher.
o Candidates from nations where English is the official language are not required to provide evidence of their English language competency.
Advantages of 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship at Dalian University
Tuition and on-campus housing are not required. The monthly stipend is provided as follows:
o Comprehensive medical insurance; o Master’s degree students pay 3,000 CNY per month; o Doctorate students pay 3,500 CNY per month; o Candidates are responsible for covering their own foreign travel costs.
Documents Needed for the Scholarship at Dalian University
Applicants for the Dalian University Scholarship must be prepared to provide the following paperwork:
After completing the online application, candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship should print the form, sign it, and submit it.
• Applicants who are currently in China are required to provide a scanned photocopy of their visa.
• Academic records (beginning with the undergraduate program).
• A suggestion for a study plan that is at least 1000 words long and written in either Chinese or English.
• Two reference letters from professors or associate professors at the university where the applicant received their degree, written in either Chinese or English. These letters will outline the applicant’s learning goals in China, overall skill set, and assessment of potential future development. Consult the attachments.
• A photocopy of the completed English Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report (applicants should retain the original).
One blank visa page and a photocopy of the passport photo page (normal passports expire after September 2024).

The No-Criminal Conviction Certificate. Highest degree notarized (notarized photocopy).
