2025 Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship for Nigerians | How To Apply
For qualified Nigerian students presently enrolled in Nigerian higher education institutions, the Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship is still available.
Two hundred eligible undergraduates and Higher National Diploma students from Northern Nigeria who are enrolled in recognized public institutions and polytechnics in Nigeria are given financial assistance through the Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to qualified students and is renewed after specific conditions are met.

Details of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation Memorial Scholarship:
As part of its mission to promote education in Northern Nigeria, the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) awards scholarships each year to 200 qualified undergraduates and Higher National Diploma students from Northern Nigeria enrolled in accredited public universities and polytechnics in Nigeria.
Each student will receive a scholarship worth N100,000.00 (one hundred thousand naira) for the length of the school year. It is subject to a minimum CGPA equivalent to Second Class, Lower Division for university students, and Upper Credit for polytechnic students in order to be renewed upon award.
Applications are being accepted from eligible and successful Northern States applicants who were accepted into the 100-level (JME), 200-level (Direct Entry), and HND 1 programs during the 2020–2021 academic year and have already started their studies.
Scholarship for the Ahmadu Bello Foundation Memorial in 2025 Conditions:
The Ahmadu Bello Foundation Memorial Scholarship requires that you:
- Applicants for the fellowship must have been accepted into scientific and technology programs at public universities and polytechnics.
- Be an indigene of any of the 19 Northern Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory (proof of State of Origin will be needed);
- Have been offered admission to a full-time degree or HND program at a public university or polytechnic;
- Meet the requirements for registration in the institution and the department or faculty as a full-time student;
- Have received credit in five 0’level papers, including English and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings;
- By the time they enroll in the university or polytechnic, they must not be older than 25.

Duration & Award of the Ahmadu Bello Foundation Memorial Scholarship:

Required Records for the Scholarship from the Ahmadu Bello Foundation
Candidates must be prepared to submit the following paperwork in order to apply:
- Those that make the short list will be asked to participate in a screening process where they must provide the following:
- Three passport photos, each two inches by two inches.
- Birth certificate from the National Population Commission (NPC);
- JAMB examination result;
- JAMB and institution original copy of admission letter;
- Proof of payment of fees and faculty/departmental registration;
- Valid student identification card;
- WAEC or NECO Senior Secondary School examination result(s)/certificates;
- Semester result(s);
- Personal contact information (including email address)
A community leader’s letter of recommendation; a completed parent or guardian attestation letter; current phone numbers; and the next of kin’s contact information, including email address.
How to Apply for the 2025 Ahmadu Bello Foundation Memorial Scholarship
• Please take note that fulfilling these requirements does not ensure that the student will receive the scholarship; this is dependent on availability and the student’s rating throughout the selection process.
• The scholarship will be withdrawn if any information is falsified at any point.
• Candidates who meet the requirements must apply online. Applications that are incomplete will not be processed; only those who have been shortlisted will be contacted; the names of the chosen applicants will be posted on the Foundation’s website and in a national daily; and applicants who have previously received scholarships under other programs will not be taken into consideration.
