Twin sisters receive full scholarships to US universities after graduating as the top students with a GPA of 4.00.
With a combined cumulative grade point average of 4.0, twin sisters Tyra and Tia Smith have been named the top graduating students at Lindblom Math and Science Academy in Chicago. Both of them were granted full scholarships to attend various American universities.
The identical twins, Tia and Tyra Smith, both 18 years old, went to Lindblom Math and Science Academy in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Both of them received the highest cumulative grade point in their graduating class, earning them the title of high school valedictorian.
At their graduation ceremony, the Smith twin sisters each delivered a joint graduation address.
“I was happy that we were together because we truly collaborated to get to where we are now. Tyra stated, “It was the final activity we could do together in school before we had to part ways.”
Tia liked human geography and U.S. history in high school, whereas Tyra claimed that biotechnology and problem-based learning arithmetic were her favorite subjects. The Smith twins participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, including the school gallery club, in addition to their academic accomplishments.
Additionally, it was they who established “More Than 28,” the school’s first black history art gallery.

The identical twins have a same passion and interest in theater. Recently, they worked with Baxter International illness, a healthcare organization that aids in developing a community awareness campaign for kidney illness. Additionally, they showcased a kidney disease community awareness campaign at the STEM Challenge Showcase in Illinois.
Additionally, they wrote the screenplay for a special episode of “Black-ish.”
“The most fulfilling and significant factor in forming who I am now has been Theater 1,” Tia remarked.
Lemi-Ola Erinkitola, the twins’ mother, spoke about their accomplishment and said it was an emotional time. She added that she is thrilled the twins will be reminiscing about their triumphs together.
“Usually, we see one valedictorian, so I was happy because they are going to different colleges and it added a nice, final touch to their academic years together,” Erinkitola said.
“The fact that they can share that platform together and a memory they can carry throughout their journeys in life was very, very emotional and goes beyond just the title,” she continued.
According to the twins, they will both pursue their passion for theater while attending college.
Tia will major in theater and statistics at Duke University, while Tyra will major in theater and economics at Northwestern University.
