The University of Glasgow African Excellence Scholarship is now accepting applications.
For the academic year 2025–2026, the University of Glasgow is providing up to 15 scholarships to international students from Africa who are beginning a one-year postgraduate taught master’s program in any discipline. The scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition.

Candidates must have an offer of admission to a postgraduate taught one-year master’s program for the September 2025 intake (although an offer is not required to apply, applicants must have one in order to be considered for an interview; they should also take into account the application deadlines listed on the program websites).
Qualifications for the University of Glasgow African Excellence Award in 2025
In order to be eligible for the University of Glasgow African Excellence Award, candidates must:
- Be domiciled in Africa;
- Have international fee status;
- Show academic excellence and earn grades equivalent to a UK first-class honors;
- Be able to demonstrate a clear career and/or development plan that will be supported by master’s level study (via application form);
- Be able to provide proof of meeting UKVI maintenance/living costs by June 30, 2025 (only required if scholarship offered after successful interview).
- Attend one of the university partners in Africa as a staff member, student, or alumnus.
