The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program aims to:

• foster their leadership potential; and
• set them up for success as tomorrow’s research leaders.
Qualifications for the Canada Banting Fellowship Program
You must be a local, permanent resident, or international applicant in order to be eligible for the Canada Banting Fellowship Program. You must also meet or have met all requirements for a PhD, PhD-equivalent, or health professional degree.
- o prior to their award’s start date, and o between September 15, 2021, and September 30, 2025 (inclusively).
- By October 15, 2025, applicants who did not meet all degree criteria at the time of application must provide documentation.
- The eligibility window only applies to the most recent degree earned by applicants who have earned multiple PhDs, PhD equivalents, or health professional degrees.
