Details of the 2025 Government of Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
Through partnerships with local universities, the TaiwanICDF’s International Higher Education Scholarship Program provides full scholarships to deserving students from partner nations so they can pursue higher education in Taiwan.
Through the development of exceptionally gifted people, the TaiwanICDF Scholarship seeks to promote the socioeconomic development of partner nations. Additionally, this initiative broadens the global perspective of Taiwanese youngsters and improves the internationalization of Taiwan’s universities.
The Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), which was established in 1998 by the TaiwanICDF in partnership with partner universities in Taiwan, provides an operational foundation for maximizing the scholarship program within the TICA framework.
Scholarship of the Government of Taiwan 2025 Conditions
You must:
• Be a citizen of a nation listed on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship and meet any special requirements set forth by their nation and/or government of citizenship in order to be eligible for the Government of Taiwan Scholarship.
• Meet the entrance standards of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship;
• Not be a citizen of the Republic of China (Taiwan); and
• Not be a student from another country.
- Be able to meet all requirements for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) issued by the Ministry of the Interior of the ROC (Taiwan) government and a Resident Visa (Code: FS) issued by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke an offered scholarship if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).
Duration and Reward of the Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship
Entitlements: During the designated award term, the TaiwanICDF will offer each student the full TaiwanICDF Scholarship, which includes round-trip flights, housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly stipend. The following is a breakdown of the scholarship:
- Airfare: The TaiwanICDF will book your Economy Class tickets on the most direct flights to and from Taiwan.
- Housing: All students are required to live in the dorms.
- Tuition: As mandated by the student’s university, the TaiwanICDF will pay the tuition.
- Credit fees: The quantity of registered credits affects the credit fees. Additionally, credit costs will be paid as stipulated by the student’s university.
- Insurance: Every student in Taiwan needs to have accidental and essential medical coverage in addition to the Ministry of Education’s mandated student safety insurance. For the duration of the program, insurance fees will be paid.
- Book costs: The director of the student’s institute must approve the purchase of textbooks as needed by the instructors.
- Permission:
o Undergraduate Program: During the program, each student will get NT$15,000 per month to cover food and other living expenses. Each month, the money will be transferred to the student’s local bank account.
o Master’s Program: During the program, each student will get NT$18,000 a month to cover food and other living expenses. Each month, the money will be transferred to the student’s local bank account.
o Ph.D. Program: During the program, each student will get NT$20,000 per month to cover food and other living expenses. Each month, the money will be transferred to the student’s local bank account.

Documents Required by the Taiwanese GovernmentThe ICDF Scholarship
Only citizens of ROC’s ally nations (including Taiwan) may apply for any undergraduate program.
- A copy of the candidate’s passport or other official document attesting to their nationality.
- A copy of the candidate’s academic records and highest-level diploma.
- A copy of the candidate’s certificate of English proficiency.
- Two reference letters. 5. Any further documentation that a ROC (Taiwan) Embassy, Consulate General, or Representative Office specifically requests.
How to Apply for the 2025 Government of Taiwan ICDF Scholarship (One step at a time)
- Fill out the online application form found on the TaiwanICDF Scholarship application website to apply for the ICDF Scholarship.
Upload all necessary application materials via the web-based platform.
- In a similar vein, a candidate may only apply to one program at a time. Candidates need to send their selected universities a separate program application.Additionally, applicants must meet the document requirements set forth by the TaiwanICDF partner schools.
- Additionally, applicants should contact the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate General/Representative Office. The Taiwan ICDF’s qualifying requirements and selection standards will serve as the basis for their preliminary review.
- Don’t forget to apply for the ICDF Scholarship Program before the deadline. Applications for the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Program must be submitted by March 15, 2025.
