All aspects of CNS and spinal cord lesions, nerve regeneration, trophic neural support, and functional lesion-induced changes—ideally in mammals—can be the subject of research initiatives. Clinical research projects may focus on neurology, urology, rehabilitation, acute lesion management, including surgery, diagnostics, and other fields related to paraplegia.
The IRP Foundation’s mission is to promote research worldwide. The IRP Foundation’s activities are not limited to Switzerland. It encourages research projects in the fields of neurology and spinal cord regeneration from scientists, clinical research facilities, and labs worldwide that concentrate on mitigating the effects of paraplegia and ultimately finding a cure.

• Clinical interest: It is important to keep basic research grounded in reality. The proposed initiatives must be pertinent to the clinical scenario brought on by brain or spinal cord lesions, and their results must unmistakably advance our knowledge of paraplegia and brain lesions.
Overall evaluation: An appraisal of the project’s presentation, description, and motivation, including the rationale behind the planned experiments and the possibility of obtaining relevant results, a deeper comprehension of the mechanisms underlying brain and spinal cord lesions, and the creation of novel therapeutic approaches.
