South Korea’s Global Intern Program (GIP) 2025
International students can apply for the Global Intern Program. Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is providing overseas students with this internship opportunity.
International Internship Program International students can apply for a fully sponsored internship through GIP 2025. Travel, lodging, stipend, and other expenses are covered by the GIP internship.
The Global Intern Program (GIP) provides an excellent opportunity for those of you who would like to experience the unique research environment and opportunities at the GIST. You will be able to join a research lab for eight weeks during the summer and receive invaluable training and mentorship from the lab’s professor.
It will be a chance to obtain useful research experience and assist you in determining whether pursuing a graduate degree at GIST is the appropriate choice for you.

Internship Overview

The following areas are the focus of internships: Department of Biomedical Science and Engineering; School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; School of Materials Science and Engineering; School of Mechanical Engineering; School of Environmental Science and Engineering; School of Life Sciences; School of Physics and Chemistry; School of Integrated Technology
Duration of Internship: 8 weeks During the first seven weeks of a laboratory internship, you should prepare a brief paper based on your research proposal. In the eighth week, you should submit a draft of your research poster for the poster session.
You, your home university, and your participating GIST laboratory will receive a book that contains the articles and posters you contributed.

Qualifications
The following requirements must be met by applicants for a GIP internship:
English is a required language, and all nations worldwide are eligible.
• Students pursuing master’s degrees or senior undergraduate degrees from abroad.
• A GPA of at least 3.0.
How Can I Apply for an Internship through the Global Intern Program?
1. The applicant needs to register here using their email address.
2. The application must be filled out by the applicant.
3. In the application form, candidates should list two laboratories of their choice and attach a research plan.

5. The applicant needs to apply for a spot in the program of their choice as indicated in one of the opportunity areas.
- The applicant must consent to follow Korean law and GIST regulations.
- Every school or department chooses interns using its own procedure, and the Section of International Cooperation (SIC) is powerless to change or interfere with that procedure.
- To apply, the applicant needs to submit the following document:
- Original Degree Certificates (Official).
