A three to five page paper outlining a possible research project that a candidate is interested in working on is called a research proposal (for a Ph.D.). The research gap that the applicant hopes to close throughout his or her study should be amply supported in the proposal. It has to be discussed in light of the body of current literature. An outline of how the proposer intends to study the underlying research project and the anticipated results must be included in the proposal. Lastly, the proposal should emphasize the project’s commercial and scientific importance. It should be noted that candidates must compose their proposals entirely on their own. The proposal will be read by the MBZUAI selection team, which will use it as one of the metrics to evaluate the applicant’s abilities. Faculty at MBZUAI will not assist applicants with writing a research proposal for the application.
