You will get full funding to cover your tuition and a stipend of $52,352 annually till the completion of your program if you are chosen for the award.

Details of the Australian Government’s Research Training Program
For both domestic and international students pursuing research master’s and doctoral degrees, the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) offers block grants to higher education providers (HEPs).
Programs referred to as higher degrees by research (HDRs) get funding on a calendar-year basis.
The RTP aims to:
- foster cooperation between HEPs and industry and other research end-users;
- offer flexible funding arrangements to support training domestic and international students pursuing HDRs at Australian HEPs; and
- produce graduates with the skills necessary to pursue careers in academia and other sectors of the labor market.
Qualifications for the 2025 Australian Government RTP Scholarship
You must:
- Be a domestic or international student;
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; and
- Fulfill the prerequisites for a master’s by research or doctoral degree at the university of your choice in order to be eligible for the Australian Government RTP Scholarship.
Australian Government RTP Scholarship Benefits for 2025
The Australian Government RTP Scholarship includes:
- tuition price reimbursement;
- a $52,352 general living stipend; and
- allowances for HDR auxiliary costs.
With effect from January 1st, the RTP basic and maximum stipend rates are indexed annually. Every year by October 1st, the basic and maximum RTP stipend rates for the subsequent year are revealed.

Universities that qualify for the Australian Government RTP Scholarship include:
Avondale University, Bond University, Central Queensland University, Charles Darwin University, Charles Sturt University, Curtin University, Deakin University, Flinders University, Griffith University, James Cook University, La Trobe University, Macquarie University, Murdoch University, and Queensland University of Technology.
