On July 1, 2017, the Netherlands Fellowship Programs (NFP) launched a new phase as a new program called the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP). The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched OKP, which has full funding.

• Program Period: -Short courses that last anything from two weeks to twelve months.
-Master’s degree programmers (12–24 months)

Deadlines for Rounds 1 and 2 are 8 February to March 30 and June 28 to September 5, respectively.
• Note: December 31, 2024, is the anticipated conclusion date of the Orange Knowledge Program. There won’t be any application rounds in 2024 as a result.

Qualifications for the Orange Knowledge Program

The following factors should be taken into account in order to qualify for The Orange Knowledge Programme:

English is one of the required languages.

  • Suitable Nations: The applicant for the scholarship is a citizen of one of the nations included in the OKP Country List, and they reside and work there (see to the document Country List for Short courses and Masters).
  • One of the following categories of national or local entities employs the scholarship applicant: commissions, universities, the commercial sector, NGOs, secondary or higher vocational or academic education institutes, or ministries.
  • The scholarship recipient is not permitted to work for a bilateral or multilateral organization, a globally operating non-governmental organization, or an organization dedicated to promoting social values like human rights, development cooperation, environmental and nature preservation, or health.
  • The scholarship applicant is a professional who can put what they have learned into practice—either directly or through their employer—because of their (1) role, (2) years of relevant work experience, and (3) networks within a theme relevant to local development.
  • The scholarship recipient is in possession of a legitimate identity document.
  • The candidate for the scholarship has been accepted into the program or course for which they are seeking an OKP award.
  • If needed by the local government, the scholarship applicant has included a government statement with the application (see to the document government statement requirement).
    • The scholarship candidate proves that the study can be funded with the proposed co-funding percentage.
    • The employer of the scholarship applicant provides a positive reference for the scholarship application, affirms that it will continue to pay the scholarship recipient’s salary throughout the program, and permits the scholarship recipient to put what they have learned into practice upon their return.
