University students who are having trouble paying their tuition have received a total of N46 million in scholarships from Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current president of Nigeria, is married to Remi Tinubu. At the National Scholarship Program of Tertiary Education 2023’s launch, she awarded the scholarships to the students.
The program is a division of the first lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). Forty-six Nigerian students from academic institutions around the nation received awards from her.
Each recipient of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s National Scholarship Program receives a laptop and one million naira annually for four years.
Busola Kukoy, the first lady’s media aide, said in a statement that the scholarship recipients were selected from the FCT and the 36 federation states. She went on to say that different women’s societies nominated the others.
The First Lady greeted the recipients at the flag-off event, adding that the award is a component of the initiative’s efforts to guarantee that every kid in the nation receives the necessary education they are entitled to.
