Nigerians’ travel prohibition is not applicable to international students in the United Kingdom.
International students who intend to study or return to any UK university are immune from the travel ban placed on nations on the “red list,” according to a statement released by the UK government through the British High Commissions.
The United Kingdom’s government had previously prohibited entry into the country for inhabitants of a few chosen nations, including Nigeria. The notice stated that the restriction was intended to safeguard the United Kingdom against the current pandemic.

However, the British High Commission made it clear on Tuesday that students and scholars from nations in the red zone will not be refused access to the UK.
According to the statement, applications from some groups, including students, workers, and permanent residents of the UK, would have their visas processed for entry into the country, while other visa applications will not be handled by UK High Commissions.
Part of the announcement states, “Applications in other categories (student/work/live permanently in the UK) will continue to be processed.”
