Qualifications for the 2025 Latvian Government Scholarships
Please take note of the following requirements in order to be considered for the Latvia Government Scholarships 2025:
- An applicant must choose a study programme at a Latvian HEI prior to the application for a scholarship;
- An applicant must receive the confirmation letter for the chosen study programme from the Latvian HEI prior to the application for a scholarship;
- An applicant, who is already studying at a Latvian HEI, should also receive the confirmation letter for the present or chosen study programme prior to the application for a scholarship;
- The confirmation letter for the chosen study programme from a Latvian HEI needs to be provided by the designated contact person.
During their studies, the foreign student may be awarded a Latvian state scholarship for a maximum of two terms.
Applicants who qualify
• Master’s or PhD students from any prior higher education institution (HEI);
• Bachelor’s students who have already successfully finished at least one academic year at any HEI.
Advantages of the 2025 Latvian Government Scholarships
• For first, second, and third year students pursuing a bachelor’s degree (and second level professional higher education), €500 per month
• Master’s students (and second-level professional higher education students beginning in their fourth year of study) pay €600 a month.
• Ph.D. students pay €700 a month.
