• A citizen of a nation that is a borrower of ADB (applicants from nations that are no longer ADB borrowers are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship).
• A strong academic record and a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
• Acquired admission to an academic institution’s authorized MA/PhD program.
• At the time of application, a minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional work experience (obtained following a university degree). Proficiency in both written and spoken English communication is necessary for academic pursuits.

• Academic institution employees are not qualified for the scholarship.
• The Scholarship is not available to ADB management and employees, consultants, executive directors, alternate directors, or their family members.
• Scholarships are not available to applicants who reside or work outside of their country of origin.
• Research projects, conferences, seminars, short-term training, distance learning programs, undergraduate courses, and thesis writing are not sponsored by ADB-JSP.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled in graduate degree programs are not supported by ADB-JSP.
