The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, and doctorate degrees in any subject or art at recognized higher education institutions in Hungary.

You must do the following to be eligible for the Government of Hungary Bilateral State Scholarship:
• Be foreign nationals with a higher education degree or a certificate of completion from secondary school.
- Possess a master’s degree and be admitted to a doctorate school in Hungary are prerequisites for doctoral applicants; they must also fulfill the specific requirements of their selected Hungarian institution, including passing the entrance exam.In order to promote a more thorough cultural integration and educational experience, students who apply for programs taught in languages other than Hungarian must also take Hungarian language and culture courses.
Hungary Bilateral State Scholarship 2025 Benefits
- Full Tuition Coverage: The scholarship pays for all tuition at recognized Hungarian universities.
- All-encompassing Assistance:
- A monthly stipend of HUF 140,000 (about €390) is provided to doctorate students.
- Monthly stipend for non-doctoral students: HUF 43,700 (about €120).
Additional assistance in the form of lodging or a comparable housing expense contribution.
- Health insurance that complies with Hungarian laws.
- Cultural Immersion: To improve cultural awareness, scholarship recipients studying non-Hungarian languages are required to enroll in Hungarian language and culture classes.
