The purpose of the Adeola Oyinlade Essay Competition is to assess law students’ capacity to critically examine a subject within the framework of pertinent legislation and produce original, well-written essays.

Qualifications for the 2025 Adeola Oyinlade Essay Competition
You must be a law student enrolled in any of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions (federal, state, and private) at the 100–500 level in order to be eligible for the Adeola Oyinlade Essay Competition.
Adeola Oyinlade National Essay Competition 2025 Benefits
The winner will receive NGN 300,000.00 in addition to an internship at Adeola Oyinlade & Co. and the opportunity to publish an essay on Mondaq.
- First runner-up: NGN 200,000.00 plus Adeola Oyinlade & Co. internship
- Second runner-up: N100,000.00 plus Adeola Oyinlade & Co. internship
- Participants in grades four through ten: NGN 50,000.00 apiece, plus an internship at Adeola Oyinlade & Co.
- A Certificate of Participation for each participant whose submission complied with the requirements for submitting essays.

Submission Guidelines for the Adeola Oyinlade Essay Competition
It is possible to submit on an individual basis. Essay co-authorship is not allowed.
- Every essay must be unique and fully composed by the candidate. There is no room for plagiarism. original.
- Only one entry may be submitted by each participant.
- Submissions can’t be more than 1500 words. Additionally, it must not contain any images or other visual representations. The word count does not include footnotes.
- Essays must be turned in in Microsoft Word format and written in English. Font: Times New Roman, double-spaced, size 12, justified alignment.
- All essays need to be properly referenced in accordance with OSCOLA guidelines.
- Only the full name of the participants may appear on the submitted manuscript; no other personal information, including the participants’ school, may be included. This will prevent favoritism and encourage openness.
