The following benefits are offered to recipients of Helen Hay Whitney Fellowships:
• The Foundation pays for the Fellow and his or her family’s travel to the fellowship location at the time of fellowship activation;

Candidates must meet all of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the Helen Hay Whitney Fellowships:

• Applicants seeking initial postdoctoral training in fundamental biomedical research who now hold, or are nearing, a Ph.D., M.D., or comparable degree.
- Candidates who have earned a PhD (or D.Phil. or equivalent) degree no more than two years prior to the application deadline, or an M.D. degree no more than three years prior to the deadline, and who have no more than one year of postdoctoral research experience at the time of the application deadline.
