Scholarship Reports
The following advantages are offered to the winner of an AStar International Fellowship:
The following assistance* will be provided to selected candidates for up to two years of post-doctoral research training abroad:
• A monthly allowance for living abroad.
• The monthly stipend for sustenance, which includes any applicable CPF contributions.
• The annual airfare for return.
• Additional benefits, such as the settlement-in allowance.
• Allowance for computers.
• Allowance for books.
• Allowance for conferences.
• Personal insurance for the year.
• The preferred A*STAR Research Institute will finish the three years and provide funding.
• All rates and allowances are subject to periodic A*STAR modifications and differ by nation, university, and lab.
Qualifications
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for an A*Star International fellowship:
English is one of the required languages.
- Suitable Nations: Although non-Singaporeans must have earned Singapore citizenship before the fellowship begins, Singaporeans and other nationals are welcome to apply.
- Have finished a PhD within the previous four years.
- Have a stellar record of publications.
- Do not currently hold any bonds with any organizations.
- Have applied, or plan to apply, for a post-doctoral position in a prestigious foreign university or lab.
- The AIF is open to candidates who are nearing the end of their PhD. However, only when they receive their PhD degree is their AIF award validated.
The eligibility requirements listed above are not all-inclusive.
Additional selection criteria may be included by A*STAR in accordance with current scholarship standards. These guidelines are subject to change at any time and without prior notice.
How Can I Apply for a Fellowship at A*Star International?
To be eligible for this scholarship, please take the crucial actions listed below:
• Click “Create your own account,” then enter your email address and password. An online application form will appear.
• Complete the necessary application and submit it.
• Your application will be considered once all necessary documents have been provided, and you could be asked for further information as we evaluate it. You will be asked to participate in at least two rounds of interviews and a psychometric test if you make the short list.
Please be aware that you will have 15 minutes to present your suggested research idea during the interview. After that, there is a 15-minute Q&A period.
In order to serve the one-year service commitment period at the A*STAR Research Institute following the post-doctoral program under the AIF, you must obtain the approval of your prospective A*STAR Research Institute Supervisor and Executive Director if you are selected for the next interview round or rounds.
