The recipient of a Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship will receive the following advantages:
• Faculty for the Future grants can be extended until the end of the studies and are based on real expenditures for qualified expenses up to a maximum of USD 40,000 for a post-doc and USD 50,000 for a PhD annually.
- Performance, self-evaluation, supervisor recommendations, and compelling proof of reintegration plans in the home country are all requirements for renewal funds.
Qualifications for Future Fellowships for Faculty at the Schlumberger Foundation
- The candidate must meet each of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships:
- English is the required language.
- All nations across the world are eligible.
They belong to an emerging economy or developing nation and are female. If you have two citizenships, one of which is from a developed nation, you are not qualified to apply. (Note: if you become a citizen of a developed nation after receiving a Faculty for the Future grant, the grant will be terminated on the day of the new citizenship);
- are getting ready for post-doctoral research or a PhD in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Only multidisciplinary research combining the physical and biological sciences is eligible for awards in the biological sciences.
- are enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a host university or research institute overseas (applications are no longer accepted where an applicant has not yet applied to a university). The Faculty for the Future program does not fund master’s level study. If you’re applying for a sandwich course, the host university overseas—rather than your home university—must grant the final degree;
- have a stellar academic record;
- are willing to support the socioeconomic development of your home country and region by bolstering the faculty at your home university, conducting pertinent research, or applying your specialized knowledge to address public policy issues;
- can exhibit active PARTICIPATION in faculty life and outreach programs to encourage young women into the sciences;
- have a demonstrated track record of teaching experience or can demonstrate a commitment to teaching.
