The University of Guelph offers overseas students the famous $42,500 Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship for undergraduate admission.
It was created in Dr. Franco Vaccarino’s honor and offers a guaranteed first-choice preference residence, mentorship, and a summer research assistantship.
Candidates are encouraged to apply if they have a strong academic record, have made noteworthy achievements, and have the potential to become future leaders.
Qualifications for the 2025 Franco Vaccarino President’s Award
In order to be eligible for the Franco Vaccarino President’s Award, you have to:
- Be starting your first semester of any University of Guelph undergraduate program.
- Have a valid international student visa.
- Have never been enrolled in a postsecondary school before.
- Show notable leadership achievements to their school and community;
- Have an admissions average that is at least 90.0% in a Canadian curriculum.
Please take note that Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not qualified.
The advantages of the 2025 University of Guelph Entrance Scholarship
- For the September set, the scholarship term will run from September 2020 to September 2021; for the January set, it will run from January 2021 to January 2022.
- The scholarship will cover all tuition costs for the year and offer an £8,000 stipend spread out over 12 months.
- Candidates who can provide proof of their refugee status will be given preference, although the university may still invite other candidates to apply.
