Details of the University of Manitoba Undergraduate Bursary:
International students can receive financial assistance through the University of Manitoba International Undergraduate Student Bursary.
The International Undergraduate Student Bursary is offered by the University of Manitoba to international students enrolled in fall and winter bachelor’s degree programs who have satisfactory academic status and have shown financial need.
The University of Manitoba’s 2025 International Undergraduate Student Bursary requirements
You must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for the University of Manitoba International Undergraduate Student Bursary:
- To be eligible, all students must finish their courses during the fall and winter terms.
- Each term, students must enroll in and finish at least 60% of their entire course load, or at least 9 credit hours.
- Students must achieve minimum G.P.A. standards; however, graduate students are exempt from credit hour minimums as long as they are enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies during the autumn and winter terms. Continuing students need to have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. High school freshmen must have an average of at least 70% in grade 12.
- Bursary consideration may also be available to students admitted on mature student status.
- The application needs to include explicit documentation of financial need. A copy of a recent official government loan evaluation is required for students who have filed for government student loans from other provinces in order to substantiate their claim of financial necessity.
- The general bursary program is not open to international students who are enrolled in their first year of post-secondary education in Canada.
