In order to acknowledge and encourage academic excellence, the University of Manitoba offers full-time master’s and doctoral students the opportunity to apply for the University of Manitoba Graduate Scholarship, which is given out annually from more than $2 million in university graduate fellowships.
The University of Manitoba Fellowships (UMGF) are offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment.

Students must be recommended by their department or unit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for a UMGF.
University of Manitoba Scholarship Canada 2025 Requirements
You must:
- have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 in order to be eligible for the University of Manitoba Scholarship Canada. Since your department can have a higher GPA requirement, please get in touch with them.
They have obtained provisional admission as Master’s or Ph.D. students in a graduate program at the University of Manitoba, or have been accepted as full-time students without provision.

The University of Manitoba Scholarship 2025’s advantages
- The value of UMGF master’s grants is $14,000 annually for 12 or 24 months, for a maximum of $28,000.
- The annual value of UMGF doctorate grants is $18,000 for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months, for a maximum of $72,000.
