International students and Canadian citizens pursuing undergraduate degrees are both eligible to apply for scholarships at the University of Alberta for 2025–2026. There are several scholarships available to help gifted and worthy students, including fully funded ones.

Qualifications for the 2025 University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarship

• Possess a strong admission average and shown leadership abilities to be eligible for the University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarship.
• Meet the minimum average, language proficiency, and course requirements specified in the program search tool;

  • Be starting the first year of an undergraduate degree on a student visa permit.

    Benefits of the 2025 President’s International Distinction Scholarship at the University of Alberta
    Up to CAN $120,000 (payable over four years) is awarded annually to 25 students who have a strong entrance average and have shown leadership abilities when they start their first year of undergraduate study on a student immigration permit.

  • The International Distinction Scholarship in Honor of Chan Pang Kuen

Up to CAN $120,000 (payable over four years) is awarded to students who join their first year of an undergraduate program on a student visa permit with a superior entrance average and proven leadership abilities.

The International Scholarship for Cora Martinson

Up to CAN $56,000 (payable over four years) could be awarded to students who excel academically and enroll in any year of an undergraduate program at Augustana Faculty while on a student visa permit.

 

  • Scholarship for International Leaders

Based on their leadership positions and achievements in their school, community groups, extracurricular activities, or even at work, this scholarship honors and rewards well-rounded individuals with exceptional academic performance. Up to CAN $15,000 may be awarded to recipients.

  • Scholarship for International Admission

Depending on their admissions average, top students could get up to CAN $5,000.

Scholarship for Regional Excellence

Depending on the admission average, top students from specific areas could get up to CAN $5,000.

The Gold Standard Scholarship

Depending on the average admittance, the top 5% of students in each faculty could get up to CAN $6,000.
