Brilliant Nigerian physicists graduate with honors from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom despite experiencing racial harassment.
Despite experiencing racial harassment, Ijabla Pius, a remarkable Nigerian nuclear physicist, earned a Master’s degree in nuclear and environmental physics from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom.
Pius, who received a First Class Degree in Physics from Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, explained that he had wanted to work as a nuclear physicist since he was seventeen years old.
Ijabla Pius celebrated his accomplishment on LinkedIn, pointing out that he had to overcome several obstacles in the UK, particularly racial insults, to attain his success. He mentioned that two of his Scottish coworkers, Craig and Fraser, were there for him in times of despair.
“I experienced various racial attacks during my MSc at Glasgow, but my two Scottish coworkers Craig and Fraser were exceptional personalities. Even though I get depressed sometimes, these guys really help me see how I scale through,” he added.
