Details of the Aziz Foundation Scholarship:
The Aziz Foundation Scholarship seeks to assist up-and-coming leaders who exhibit a strong sense of community service and who can lead and motivate in their fields.
Only British Muslims with relevant experience who are dedicated to advancing in the fields of law, journalism, arts and culture, sports, sustainability, grants, philanthropy, and technology will be given scholarships.
Please note that the scholarships are only open to those who qualify for Home Fees status in the UK, and applications from international students will therefore not be considered.
Qualifications for the 2025 Aziz Foundation Scholarship
You must:
- Qualify for home fees status in order to be eligible for the Aziz Foundation Scholarship.
- Exhibit a long-term dedication to community/societal development in Britain;
- Be involved in a Muslim community and exhibit in-depth knowledge of issues impacting Muslim communities in Britain;
- Explain how the course will improve their efficacy in one of the following areas pertaining to British Muslims:
- Effective Advocacy and Improve Public Perception: This helps Muslims be better represented and contribute to civil society in order to fight Islamophobia and improve attitudes about Muslims in Britain.
- Community Service and Social Development: enhancing the goals and expectations of Muslim communities in Britain
Advantages of the 2025 Aziz Foundation Scholarship
- For domestic students, the scholarship pays 100% of tuition fees.
Scholarships from the Aziz Foundation are available.
Furthermore, only British Muslims who have appropriate expertise and are dedicated to advancement in the following fields will be eligible to receive the Aziz Foundation Scholarship:
- Technology: Disruptors and innovators who use technology to provide innovative and transformative solutions to society’s most pressing problems;
- Media & Journalism: Candidates that want to promote diversity in the media to ensure more equitable and truthful reporting
- Sustainability/Environment: Candidates that want to lead the charge to protect the environment and provide a safer future for future generations
- Law: Applicants with strong goals to succeed in the legal field, particularly those hoping to become judges (apart from conversion courses)
- Arts & Culture: Artists who can use a range of platforms to influence public conversations, particularly those pertaining to Muslims and Islam;
- Policy: Candidates who are passionate about influencing public policy (apart from health policy) in the UK to make sure it is fair and responsive to the needs of British Muslim communities
- Sports: Applicants who have a strong passion for athletic achievement and who can significantly impact the sector through management and administration
Applications will not be accepted for courses in mathematics, science, or health policy.’
How to Apply (Step by Step) for the 2025 Aziz Foundation Scholarship
Online applications are accepted for the Aziz Foundation Scholarship.
The application form asks about your prior schooling, employment history, financial situation, a 1,000-word statement explaining how you satisfy the Foundation’s requirements, and the names of two references.
You will receive an invitation to an interview if your application is selected for further consideration.
The 30- to 45-minute interview will cover topics such as: the difficulties faced by British Muslims; the goals and aspirations for change; the personal traits required for success; and the financial obstacles encountered.
