Africans’ 2025 Ban Ki-Moon Global Citizen Scholarship | Completely Funded
Young African citizens who are enthusiastic about taking action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN are empowered by the Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program.
The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is pleased to announce a new call for applications for the sixth round of the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, following several extremely successful cycles.

The Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship’s specifics:
A completely online scholarship program, the Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship equips young African activists to tackle one or more SDGs in their local communities.
This is accomplished by putting forward and carrying out a localized SDG Micro-Project, in addition to taking advantage of a summer school and a number of expert trainings and workshops on particular subjects.

Eligibility Requirements for Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship 2025
Interested applicants for the 2024 Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship must complete the following standards;
1. African adolescents regardless of ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation
2. Applicants must hold citizenship from one of the following countries:
• Ghana
• Nigeria
• Cameroon
• Ethiopia
• Kenya
1. Age group 20-35
2. Applicants must have achieved at least a Bachelor’s degree or higher
3. Applicants must demonstrate significant passion to SDGs and the ideas of global citizenship.
4. Applicants must have a minimum English level B2 (European Standards)
The 2025 Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship’s advantages
The chosen Scholars will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the subject of entrepreneurship for sustainable development, build professional networks, and improve their skills related to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals over the period of eight to nine months.
In addition, there will be a peer-to-peer mentoring component, complete cost coverage for a one-week Summer School program with MCI Innsbruck, and coverage for additional expert courses.
• 500 USD in seed money to help implement an SDG Micro-Project, which will be given out upon the successful submission of a project proposal. Finally, after completing their personal SDG Micro-Project successfully, scholars will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by H.E. Dr. Heinz Fischer and H.E. Ban Ki-moon, the co-chairs of the Ban Ki-moon Center.
Required Documents for the Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship 2025
During the nomination procedure you will need to enter:
- Your personal information, such as your name, contact details, citizenship, date of birth, address, gender, education, proficiency in the language, and a brief profile description
- SDG Micro-Project specifics (title, topics and SDGs addressed, general procedure and implementation);
- Your professional details (e.g., academic titles, organization name, function);
You will be asked to attach the following at the end of the nomination process:
Your motivational statement, a self-portrait in JPEG or PNG format, a 30-second introductory video in MP4 or MOV format, your resume, and a project overview for your proposed SDG Micro Project
