Details of the University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship:
The official call for applications for the 2025 University of Ghana Master of Philosophy in Seed Science and Technology Master Scholarship is being held by the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI).
The West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) and DAAD have decided to work together by providing up to three in-country and six in-region master’s degree scholarships.
For the 2025 University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship, interested and eligible candidates are officially invited to apply.
Qualifications for the 2025 DAAD University of Ghana Scholarship
You must:
• Have a first academic degree and have successfully finished a three-year university program with above-average performance (at least: Second Class/Upper Division or equivalent, if applicable) in order to be eligible for the University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship.
• Applicants are not eligible if they are unable to produce a higher result or a Second Class/Upper Division;
• Exhibit a strong sense of drive and dedication;
• Be well-versed in the teaching language;
• Typically, applicants must have graduated from college no more than six years before at the time of application;
• Be citizens or permanent residents of a nation in Sub-Saharan Africa;
Be either a) employed by a public university, b) a candidate being considered for a teaching or research position, c) employed by the public sector, or d) a graduate of the DAFI program.
Candidates from underprivileged areas or groups, women, and refugees with official refugee status are particularly encouraged to apply for the program.
Please be aware that you cannot receive additional Master’s funding from the DAAD if you have previously been awarded a Master’s scholarship.
Advantages of the 2025 University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship
The scholarship pays for:
* Annual tuition expenses;
* Annual study and research allowance (460 EUR)
- One printing allowance at the conclusion;
- Monthly Scholarship (food, lodging, etc.)
Every month, 500 EUR for PhDs in the country and 550 EUR for PhDs in the region
- Two travel allowances (in-region only) at the start and finish of the scholarship
- Health insurance (exclusive to the region)
- In the context of research-based Master programs, holders of DAAD In-Country/In-Region scholarships are also encouraged to apply for a three- to six-month short-term research stay in Germany.

In order to apply for the University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship, interested candidates must first complete the program’s application on the DAAD Portal.
Register on the portal, log in, carefully read the application instructions, and then use the portal to submit your application by November 21, 2024.
- Before submitting, make sure your application is comprehensive and satisfies all DAAD standards! Your application won’t be taken into consideration otherwise.
- In accordance with the DAAD criteria, the DAAD will formally consider applications submitted solely through the DAAD portal.
