The University of Opole, Poland (Uniwersytet Opolski) gave Damilola Akinbodunse, a bright Nigerian woman, the best-graduating student of her class and a master’s degree with an exceptional 99% mark.
Before moving to Poland to pursue her master’s degree, Damilola Akinbodunse earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial mathematics from the Federal University of Technology Akure in Nigeria.
Damilola graduated from the University of Opole, Poland (Uniwersytet Opolski) with a stellar 4.90 grade point average and a master’s degree in financial economics.
Speaking about her accomplishments in an interview with FUTA BRO, Damilola stated that she is happy to have had her foundation even though she received a second-class lower grade for her bachelor’s degree.
She stated that she was unable to obtain a scholarship for her master’s degree because of her poor graduation grade.
She persisted in applying, nevertheless, and was lucky to be accepted into the University of Passau’s master’s degree in computational mathematics in Germany.
According to Damilola, she was able to finish her first year of school online because she had to take the classes online during the COVID-19 pandemic epidemic. She also mentioned that she began applying to different universities as she began her second year.

She claimed that she got accepted to the University of Opole, Poland, to pursue a degree in Economics Concentration for Sustainable Development, thanks to her brother’s assistance.
According to Damilola, she decided to drop her ongoing degree in computational mathematics after falling in love with the course when she began taking economics classes at the university.
Damilola worked for Credit Suisse, a multinational investment bank and financial services company, when she was a student. She said it was difficult to balance employment and school because she had to put in more hours because she missed classes.
She claimed that she hardly has spare time noting that her weekends are for her school work, assignments, and studying for tests. Damilola said she was pleased to have achieved the distinction of being the best-graduating student.
She claimed that because she spends much of her alone time reading, learning, trying to be the greatest at what she does, and taking care of herself as much as possible, the voyage made her less social, but she is happy that it was worthwhile.
Damilola offered her advice to undergraduate who may not be getting their desired results saying they should not lose hope, ask for help if needed, take a break when needed, learn as much as they can, discover their strengths, and develop from there.
