A remarkable young woman receives a $50,000 scholarship from Drake and graduate with a master’s degree from a US university.

After receiving a $50,000 scholarship from Drake, a remarkable young woman called Destiny James graduated with a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina in the United States.

Drake, a well-known Canadian singer, filmed a music video with Miami Senior High School students in 2018 and then contributed a substantial $25,000 to the school. He was seen in the video giving toys and presents to small youngsters.

Following the video’s production, Destiny James—who was then an undergraduate at the University of Miami—posted a tale that caught Drake’s attention, leading him to grant her a $50,000 scholarship.

I yelled and raced around with tears in my eyes. Destiny James told Essence, “[Drake] told me that he had read my story, was proud of me, and wanted to give me $50,000 towards my education.”

She clarified that the fund enabled her to continue her studies at the university. It allowed me to enjoy my time as a UM student to the fullest without worrying about money. My final year at the University of Miami, where I received the scholarship, was unquestionably my best undergraduate year. Without having to worry about how I was going to pay for my tuition, I was able to concentrate on my studies, leadership responsibilities, and enjoying college and life,” she stated.

Destiny James enrolled at the University of North Carolina to pursue a master’s degree in public health. She posted a graduation photo to Instagram with the comment, “Mama, I mastered it,” to celebrate her graduation. I did it, Daddy. From her time at the University of Miami, Destiny James had always been a standout student. During her time at the University of Miami, she was recognized for her outstanding community involvement with the Vice President’s Award for involvement.

She presently serves as the creator and head of Bands Plus, a one-stop design store that sells t-shirts, drinkware, automobile accessories, children’s clothing, and more. James declared, “Public health is my second love, and my business is my baby.”

She continued, “I am thrilled to be able to pursue my professional goals while simultaneously staying in touch with my creative passions.”
