A remarkable 13-year-old girl who was accepted to a US university to study engineering then switched to medicine, making history
After switching to medicine as her chosen path, Alena Analeigh Wicker, the remarkable girl who was accepted to study engineering at the age of twelve, has set yet another record.
According to a prior Pulseokay report, 12-year-old Alena Analeigh was accepted to study engineering at Arizona State University in Arizona, USA. Alena was still in high school when she was accepted to the university because of her extraordinary intelligence and her desire to work as a space engineer.
However, by enrolling in full-time courses at Arizona State University and Oakwood University in Alabama, Alena has already completed two and a half years of college in just one year.
“I truly want to make a difference in the world. And guide a team of females that are aware of their abilities,” Alena remarked.
Alena decided to switch her passion from engineering to biology after visiting Jordan and learning about the Brown STEM Girl foundation. I actually took one engineering class, and I must admit that this isn’t exactly where I intended to go. Viral immunology, in my opinion, truly sprang from her love of volunteering and traveling the world, she remarked.
“I want healthcare to truly demonstrate to these marginalized communities that we can assist them in finding solutions to these viruses,” Alena stated.

Alena will become a doctor at the age of 18, if all goes according to plan.
“I wish to motivate the girls.” She stated, “I want them to see that there are no boundaries.”
Alena is going to attend the Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
