Khadejah Stegall, a resolute young woman, has overcome major obstacles to graduate from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in the United States with a degree in journalism.
When Khadejah first enrolled at the institution, her main objective was to earn good grades and graduate on time, she said, sharing her accomplishment on Linkedin. But over the course of the following four years, she not only fulfilled but surpassed her own goals.
She won a national reporting competition, produced a show about women’s empowerment, and even got to visit Tokyo, Japan, where she met amazing individuals.
Khadejah had an unforeseen obstacle while attending college: she became pregnant. At first, she was afraid that her aspirations were evaporating and that she would have to put parenthood ahead of her goals.
But she quickly came to see that being a mother was a source of strength and inspiration rather than a limitation.
Her perseverance resulted in remarkable achievements. Khadejah spoke with former President Barack Obama on ESPN about striking a balance between career success and family while juggling her obligations as a young mother.
She also interned at one of her dream companies, Viacom, and was published in Essence magazine as a minority mom graduating from college.
Reflecting on her achievements, Khadejah expressed amazement at all she accomplished in just four years. She shared her inspiring message for others facing similar challenges: “You have to choose to keep going in the midst of adversity.
