A bright Nigerian woman receives a full PhD scholarship to a US university after graduating as the best student with a 6.90/7.00 first-class mark.
A complete PhD scholarship to a university in the United States has been awarded to Basirat Rufai, a bright Nigerian woman who graduated as the University of Ibadan’s overall best-graduating student with an exceptional 6.90/7.00 grade point.
Basirat Rufai graduated from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. With an exceptional overall grade point of 6.90/7.00 and first-class honors, she graduated.
Because of her outstanding achievement, Basira was named the Faculty of Pharmacy’s best-graduating student as well as the University of Ibadan’s overall best-graduating student.

Her outstanding academic pursuits continued to pay off, as she was awarded a full PhD scholarship to Rutger University in the United States.
Basira posted on LinkedIn about her accomplishment of being awarded a scholarship to pursue a doctorate. She stated that she will be a student at Rutgers University’s Computational Center for Computational and Integrative Biology.
She also mentioned that she received a Presidential fellowship for the program and an assistantship as part of the full-ride scholarship. Basirat commented, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be beginning my PhD program at Rutgers University – Camden’s Center for Computational and Integrative Biology.”
”I was awarded a full-ride scholarship in the form of an assistantship and a Presidential fellowship for the program,” she added.
Basira expressed her gratitude to her past professors for putting in good recommendation letters for her. She also thanked her family for their guidance and support during her application process.
