AMERICA | An 11-year-old brilliant youngster is accepted to Texas University after graduating from high school in the United States.
Eleven-year-old Cannan HueyYou have achieved a remarkable scholastic milestone by graduating from Accommodated Learning Academy, a private Christian high school in the United States.
Cannan, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in physics at Texas Christian University (TCU), is following in the footsteps of his older brother, Carson Huey-You. The young prodigy was already achieving academic success prior to his admittance.
In high school, Cannan worked with TCU assistant professor Dr. Kat Barger on a study that involved radio studies of gas clouds in the Milky Way. Cannan was a perfect fit for the project because of his lifelong passion in astronomy.
“Dr. Kat told me about her research study when we first met. Cannan explained, “Mom thought it would be good to work on.”
Claretta Kimp, Cannan’s mother, homeschooled him and his older brother Carson until they were five years old. Cannan was socially successful in kindergarten because Claretta saw that he wanted to go to school with his buddies.
But by the first grade, Cannan was disinterested in the course material and asked to have his schooling accelerated. At the age of seven, he was tested and put in the eighth grade, where he swiftly adjusted and gained acceptance from his older classmates.
Cannan’s mother continues to be a constant in his life at TCU, providing him and Carson with emotional support. Claretta remarked, “I’m just fortunate to be with them on campus five days a week.”
She gives special thanks to Dr. Magnus Rittby, a longtime mentor and surrogate father figure, and acknowledges TCU for creating a nurturing atmosphere for her sons. “TCU is incredibly supportive and like family to us.” They are there to support me when I need it. Claretta continued, “I couldn’t do it alone.
The Huey-You brothers have a special closeness that sets them apart from other siblings. According to their mother, who smiles, Carson frequently teaches Cannan in college classes, and their sibling rivalry is restricted to light-saber fights.
In the future, Cannan intends to pursue a PhD in astrophysics, just like Carson.
Additionally, after listening to astronaut Anousheh Ansari speak at TCU, he became even more determined to pursue his ambition of becoming an astronaut. Ansari encouraged Cannan to broaden his skill set and pledged to be present at his maiden space launch.
Cannan is thinking about adding an engineering degree to improve his prospects of entering space, taking her counsel to heart.
