A 57-year-old woman is returning to junior high school with the goal of becoming a nurse.

Elizabeth Yamoah, a remarkable 57-year-old Ghanaian woman, has found the strength to return to high school in order to fulfill her lifetime ambition of becoming a nurse.

Elizabeth Yamoah reportedly reenrolled in junior high school at Agona Odoben Presby JHS with her granddaughter, an accomplishment that inspired several young adults in Africa and beyond.

Nana Akua Asidedua shared her experience on social media, pointing out that many elderly people still like returning to school but are unable to do so due to home and financial constraints. She praised Elizabeth as an inspiration to them.

According to reports, Elizabeth took the BECE, or Basic Education Certificate Examination.

In a different scenario, Belinda Berry, a 62-year-old mother, graduated from Chicago State University in the United States at the same time as her 25-year-old granddaughter, setting a new record.

Belinda Berry and her granddaughter, Karea Berry, became the first grandmother-granddaughter pair to graduate from Chicago State University concurrently in the school’s 150-year history when they both received their bachelor degrees on the same day.

It meant the world to me since, after my kid, that is the person I care about the most. It was so amazing to be able to make her proud while she was making me proud,” she remarked.

In order to further their education, Karea Berry, a mother of one, disclosed that they are both pursuing a Master’s degree. She explained that when she enrolled, she had no idea that she would graduate at the same time as her mother.

But after her daughter was born, two years after she started attending Chicago State University, she took a break. After making enough money to continue her degree, she went back full-time, and by then, her grandma had caught up with her.
