A 28-year-old guy breaks the record for the youngest professor at a US university after being turned down by 1500 employers.
Despite being rejected 1500 times, a remarkable 28-year-old man named Eli Joseph has created history by being the youngest professor to teach at three prominent universities in the United States.
An American scholar named Dr. Eli Joseph hails from Brooklyn, New York. At the moment, he teaches concurrently at the University of California, Los Angeles, Columbia University, and New York University.
Dr. Joseph’s journey to success was not without its challenges; he was turned down by more than 1,500 jobs, 30 universities, and 75 scholarship foundations over his lifetime. Reputable universities including Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Brown University all denied him admission.

He was rejected by Columbia University in 2012, but he persisted because of his strong will and never gave up. He is currently an associate faculty member in the Columbia University School of Professional Studies’ Applied Analytics department.
Although the New York University Tandon School of Engineering rejected him in 2016, he currently teaches graduate students at NYU’s School of Professional Studies.
Many financial, tech, and management consulting businesses, such as JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Google, Amazon, Facebook, BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte, and Bain, have sent Dr. Joseph rejection notes.
He made sure to overcome both personal and professional obstacles in spite of the innumerable rejections he received from organizations and businesses.
At Columbia and New York University’s School of Professional Studies, he gave commencement addresses to the graduating class of 2023. Using his personal story, he encouraged the graduates by pointing out that, despite his remarkable accomplishments, Dr. Joseph is not immune to disappointment and setbacks.
In order to achieve, he uses his setbacks as inspiration. He has previously given two TEDx lectures with the titles “Time Is Your Biggest Competition” and “No Trace, No Case.”
Felician University awarded Dr. Joseph a Doctor of Business Administration, making him the first graduate to finish the program at the age of 24.
The best-selling book “The Perfect Rejection Resume: A Reader’s Guide to Building a Career Through Failure” was written by him.
