A 15-year-old boy who plans to become a surgeon earns four degrees from two US universities before graduating from high school.
Khaya Njumbe is a 15-year-old child who has accomplished the extraordinary feat of graduating from high school with four degrees from two US institutions.
Khaya is a Gary kid whose family immigrated to the US more than 30 years ago from South Africa. At an early age, he managed to balance his college and high school coursework.
According to WISH-TV, he attends classes at 21st Century Charter School, which is part of the Geo Academies charter system. Because of the way the curriculum is set up, he earned credits for both degrees at the same time.

I had originally intended to graduate from high school at the age of twelve. Many people were surprised to see me around campus. They would think I was the professor’s son,” he said.
“Since I was very little, I’ve always wanted to graduate early. At first, it was quite shocking. I didn’t believe I was going to get my bachelor’s degree at such a young age,” Khaya added.
Khaya said he earned credits from Ivy Tech University before taking classes at Indiana University. He will be graduating from Ivy Tech University with three associate’s degrees and also a bachelor’s degree from Indiana Northwest University, United States in the same year.
In Indianapolis, he and his friend, who also accomplished the same accomplishment, were celebrated by a coalition of Black leaders. At the event, the State of Indiana also honored them for their commitment to education.
He is motivated by his ambition to study and advance, Khaya said, adding that he hopes his narrative inspires others to follow in his footsteps.You should have faith in your future goals. Now is the time to set and accomplish your goals,” he stated.
Despite his many achievements, he said he still manages his time so well that he still engages in childhood activities like playing video games. Khaya stated that he intends to become an orthopedic surgeon and that he wants to work in the medical industry.
