A 100-year-old man who has worked for the same company for 84 years breaks the world record and has no plans to retire.
After working for one company for 84 years in a row, a 100-year-old Brazilian man broke an incredible Guinness World record.
The remarkable guy, Walter Orthmann, began working at what is now RenauxView (formerly Industrias Renaux S.A.) in 1938 and has stayed a part of the company’s family ever since.
Walter Orthman, who turned 100 earlier this month, was given the remarkable Guinness World record for being the oldest person still living to have worked for the same company for 84 consecutive years.

Walter Orthman shares his thoughts on what he called his “proudest achievement,” recounting how, in 1938, children were expected to work to support their families, so his parents helped him find employment.
Children were supposed to labor in 1938 in order to support their families. At the age of 14, he told Guinness World Records, “My mother took me to find a job because I’m the oldest of five sons.”
He applied for a job at a local weaving mill and was immediately hired due to his high level of German ability.
Orthman began at the age of 14 and received multiple promotions before becoming the Sales Manager.
Orthman stated, “When we do what we like, we don’t see the time go by,” adding that concentrating on the task at hand is a key to success that has sustained him over the years.
“All I care about is that tomorrow will just be another day where I get up, work out, and go to work; you should focus on the here and now rather than the past or the future. “What matters is the present moment,” he told Guinness Record.
