Since its inception in 1995, the scholarship for University of Kent graduates has been given out every year. All of its funding comes from donations made by university friends and alumni.

Any topic is eligible to apply for the University of Kent Alumni Scholarship; the winner will be chosen based on their academic record, prior accomplishments in their field of study, communication abilities, and involvement in the university community.
Qualifications for the Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Kent
In order to be eligible for the Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Kent, you need to:
- Possess, or be anticipated to possess, a University of Kent Bachelor’s degree (1 or 2.1) or Master’s degree (merit or distinction).
- Offer admission to the University of Kent for a PhD research program, either full-time or part-time, for the 2025–2026 academic year.
- Show that they have contributed to the larger university community by serving as a student representative on university committees or participating in Student Union activities such as societies, athletics, or volunteer work.
- Possess outstanding oral and writing communication abilities and be capable of:
o Give non-experts a straightforward, jargon-free explanation of their study.
Communicate to a larger audience their enthusiasm for their research.
Persuade the panel of the broader significance of their findings.
- Serve as “ambassadors” for their subjects and the university.
- Be ready on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, for a video interview.
Applications are open to undergraduates who wish to study at either of the University of Kent’s campuses in Canterbury, Medway, or Paris.
