For refugees from all around Africa, the United Nations UNICORE Scholarship 2025 is a fully funded scholarship opportunity in Italy that includes living stipends in addition to full tuition, visa, and airfare expenses.

Scholarship for the United Nations UNICORE 2025 Details:

The 2025 United Nations UNICORE Scholarship for African refugees to attend Italian colleges is currently accepting applications.

With assistance from the UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and other partners, Italian universities are promoting the University Corridors for Refugees UNICORE 7.0 project.

Increased access to higher education in Italy is the goal of the UNICORE Scholarship for refugees living in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Qualifications for the 2025 UNICORE Scholarship

The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for the UNICORE Scholarship:

  • Be a resident of Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe and have been granted refugee status in these nations in cooperation with UNHCR;
  • Possess a degree that is acceptable for admission to the selected Second Cycle Degree Program;
  • Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 based on the tertiary education grading system of the country of graduation, or equivalent in the comparable table provided by the Italian Ministry of Education;
  • Possess a degree earned in 2020 or later, but no later than the call deadline (notice that certain universities do not have a graduation deadline; please refer to the specific call for applications for further information);
  • Have never before enrolled in a degree program at any of the Partner Universities;
  • Be proficient in English;
  • Fulfill the specific admission requirements of the Second Cycle Degree Program.

A refugee ID card or proof of refugee registration; a certificate attesting to the qualifications needed for admission to the selected degree program; exam transcripts and related grades; GPA records; curriculum vitae; a motivation letter; and any other pertinent documents needed by the particular programs selected.
