Details of the Erasmus Mundus EMINEP Scholarship:
The European Union’s latest initiative, the Erasmus Mundus EMINEP Scholarship (European Master for Industry in Microwave Electronics and Photonics), will run from September 1, 2023, to October 31, 2029.
In contrast to EMIMEO, the new master will introduce a few new projects and activities. In fact, the program committee is still working to improve the quality of the curriculum for students and fortify ties with research institutes and industries.

The Abbe School of Photonics at Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (FSUJena, Germany), the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, Spain), the University of Limoges (UNILIM, France), and the University of Brescia (UNIBS, Italy) are the project’s collaborators. The Erasmus+ Agency has not yet approved the cooperation.
Erasmus Mundus EMINEP Scholarship Requirements
In order to be eligible for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, you need to meet the requirements listed below:
The candidates may have strong backgrounds in signal processing, electromagnetism, telecommunications, embedded systems, analog and digital electronics, electromagnetic wave propagation, and photonics principles. They must hold a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, telecommunication engineering, photonics, or applied physics.Additionally, the candidate may submit the bachelor’s program final grade. For example, the Enic-Naric Recognition Convention allows candidates to alter their grade.
- Have prior research experience and/or professional experience from an industrial internship, academic project, or summer employment.
Erasmus Mundus EMINEP Scholarship 2025 Benefits
• For the whole program (up to 24 months), the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship recipient will receive 1400 euros per month.
• The scholarship will pay for the students’ living expenses, travel expenses, and visa fees; additionally, EMIMEP will offer health and travel insurance to the students for the duration of their studies; and lastly, EMIMEP will pay for all of the students’ tuition costs during that time.
Documents Needed for the Erasmus Mundus EMINEP Award
Candidates must be prepared to submit the following paperwork in order to apply:
- English-language letter of motivation composing a personal essay to highlight the applicant’s drive and writing prowess; obtaining certified copies of high school or secondary school diplomas; obtaining certified copies of bachelor’s degrees and transcripts up to the application date; obtaining a copy of a passport or identification document.
- Resume;
• Honors self-declaration regarding proof of residency
• A certificate of English language proficiency or test results.
• Three letters of recommendation, including one from a non-academic referee confirming fundamental skills and real-world experience.
• Any evidence of the referee’s recognition, such as their Google Scholar ID, LinkedIn ID, or other online documentation, must be included in the reference letters.
• Employment certificates or internships from the previous five years as of the student scholarship application deadline.
