A brilliant Nigerian man won ₦2.5 million in cash as the TASUED best graduating student with a 4.91 CGPA.
Abdullateef Adedamola Adedeji, a bright Nigerian, made history by becoming the best-graduating student at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Nigeria, with a stellar 4.91 CGPA out of 5.00 for his Bachelor of Mathematics degree.
He received numerous honors for his outstanding accomplishment, including a ₦2.5 million cash prize from his state’s governor as the university’s 2024 valedictorian. Interestingly, he has the greatest cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the history of the school.
After completing his studies at the Kwara State College of Education, Abdullateef obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Computer Science and Mathematics. Later, he continued his schooling at TASUED.
Looking back on his path, Abdullateef posted on LinkedIn that, encouraged by his mentor, his first objective upon enrolling at TASUED in 2022 was to earn a First-Class degree.
But he was motivated to set even greater goals after a transformative discussion with one of his lecturers.

I felt a spark lit by the discourse. I changed my objective and began working relentlessly toward it, relying on God’s grace and favor as well as the help of friends, family, and mentors,” he added.
And he did. He was the best graduating student in his department and institution in addition to being named the overall best student.
It’s interesting to note that Adedamola used to hate mathematics. But he put a lot of time and effort into learning it during his UTME exam preparation, and it eventually became a part of him.
According to Abdullateef, when he first applied for his NCE program, he intended to study computer science and chemistry, but instead he was offered computer science and mathematics. “I fell in love with teaching mathematics during my NCE program. I chose mathematics as my degree major because of that love,” he stated.
Abdullateef participated extensively in extracurricular activities in addition to his academic endeavors. He took up side jobs to help pay his bills and was active in educating teachers about Educational Technology (EdTech).
In his last year, the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) TASUED also named him Coordinator of the College of Science and Information Technology (COSIT).
Abdullateef intends to make a substantial contribution to teacher training programs and expand his EdTech brand in the future. In seven years, he hopes to obtain both his Master’s and PhD degrees.
