At age 16, a 12-year-old girl is accepted to the University of Toronto in Canada, where she plans to pursue a PhD at age 22.
Vivian Xie is a bright young woman who was accepted to the University of Toronto in Canada when she was just 12 years old. She recently received her bachelor’s degree from the university at the age of 16.
At the University of Toronto in Canada, Vivian earned a double major in biology and cell and molecular biology. She made university history in addition to graduating at a remarkable age.
Since its founding in 1979, she has been the youngest graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Arts & Sciences. “The previous four years have been rather typical. You probably wouldn’t be able to tell if you didn’t know my age,” she said.
Before going to the University of Toronto, Vivian started her post-secondary education at the University of Prince Edward Island when she was twelve years old. She credits her grandmother, a school teacher, and her passion for studying with helping her succeed.
She was an instructor who began instructing me when I was having fun with my friends or playing in the park. “She was infiltrating my child’s brain with inconspicuous bits of information,” Vivian remarked.
And I wouldn’t even notice. I would assume she was having a great time with me. That’s how I came to associate learning with having a great time. In the end, my grandmother gave me many excellent life lessons.Every little thing is a lesson in life, you know, the Asian parent thing,” she continued.

According to Vivian, she never felt under pressure to perform well academically. She stated that she liked to learn at her own speed and understood the value of challenging herself when her coursework was not sufficiently demanding.
You simply need to provide yourself enough time and space to complete tasks at your own speed. “It’s not a race,” she remarked. Vivian claimed that even though she excels academically, she also likes to write creatively and eat.
“People advise you to specialize instead of trying to be a jack of all crafts. But in my opinion, that’s bad advise,” she remarked.You’ll realize that everything else is a nail when all you know how to use is a hammer. That seems like a really bad way to live your life,” she continued.
According to Vivian, she felt that possessing a diverse range of abilities and expertise helped her. In addition to achieving well academically, she said she is very sure of one thing, her tremendous desire for living life pushes her.
For us to be able to exist at this moment, all of these amazing coincidences had to occur. It will be such a waste if you throw it away after that. Simply enjoy yourself and make the most of your time here on Earth,” she urged.
She stated that she has enrolled in the University of Toronto to pursue a master’s degree in applied immunology, thus she would be continuing her education there. According to Vivian, she intends to get her doctorate by the time she is 22.
