The MasterCard Foundation Scholarship at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) gives academically gifted but economically underprivileged youth in underprivileged communities in Ghana and Africa access to high-quality education and gives them the tools they need to give back to their communities.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana and the Mastercard Foundation, which has its headquarters in Toronto, Canada, have partnered to create the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
Over a total of 15 years, the scholarship aims to teach 2,250 scholars (750 in Phase I, 2014–2019, and 1,500 in Phase II, 2019–2029) to make a substantial contribution to societal change and the transformation of Africa.
Eligibility Requirements for 2025 KNUST Mastercard Foundation Scholarship
To be accepted for the KNUST Mastercard Foundation Scholarship:
- All Applicants and prospective applicants must have in their possession, a genuine and authentic WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O Level and A Level or their equivalent results from an accredited/recognized institutions. Applicant’s results must not be more than five years old. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be processed for the scholarship.
- The applicants also need to fulfill KNUST’s admission requirements.
- The applicant needs to provide proof of critical economic needs.
- The candidate must possess a track record of demonstrated leadership and community involvement.
- People with disabilities, internally displaced persons, certified refugees, and other displaced persons will be given priority.

- The applicant needs to be ready to return to their community and give back.
- The Applicant must NOT be enrolled in any tertiary institution.
