Nigerian Youth Leadership Program for 2025: LEAP Africa | How to Apply
The goal of the LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Development Program is to give college students the tools, resources, and abilities they need to actively participate in community development, policy advocacy, and nation-building.
The LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Program is a five-month leadership program designed to give young Nigerian undergraduates, ages 18 to 30, the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to become active citizens and transformative leaders who will promote sustainable development in their communities.

Since Nigerian teenagers led the protest to promote the Nigeria they desire, the Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) was developed out of the abilities of young people to use their agency and power to effect positive change.

Details of the LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Program:
The Youth Leadership Development Program aims to empower, equip, and support young change agents who are Nigerian undergraduates under 30 by giving them the skills, information, and encouraging atmosphere they need to become self-leaders who transform their communities in a lasting way.
As we get closer to an election year, the Youth Leadership Program is more relevant than ever to the issues facing Africa today, particularly those pertaining to sustainable development, leadership, and active citizenship.
YLDP participants complete self-paced courses based on the three pillars of the program: active citizenship, leadership, and community/sustainable development group mentorship sessions with knowledgeable social innovators and change agents.
LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Program 2025 Requirements:
To be eligible for the program, you need to:
- An undergraduate, either male or female, enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary or vocational institution.
Those between the ages of 18 and 30 who are passionate about advocacy, activism, and community development; who are eager to pursue their interests in inclusion, diversity, and civic duty; who are eager to support change initiatives focused on community development and the SDGs; who are eager to interact with government agencies and have an impact on policy; who are dedicated to participating in online training, debates, and mentoring
The LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Program 2025’s advantages
Through the power of skills, active citizenship, leadership, and social entrepreneurship, the program will involve rigorous training, coaching, and mentoring that motivates action on social issues and the SDGs.
Access to microgrants for community change initiatives; leadership development and mentoring from leading social innovators and policy experts; recognition as a youth leader advancing change in Nigeria; and a thriving community of young, driven changemakers
- Obtain grants and other awards worth between N200,000 and N2.5 million.

The three program pillars of leadership, active citizenship, and sustainable/community development are the focus of the 22 modules that make up the Youth Leadership Development Program.
The modules have been thoughtfully created and customized to match the contemporary circumstances faced by Nigerian youth in order to close the gaps in community development, leadership, and active citizenship.
The modules will assist in giving the participants the information, abilities, and mindsets necessary to become real change agents that drive policy and community change.
