A young woman earns a master’s degree in hydrogen technology, becoming the first Nigerian to do so.
A young lady named Aisha Suleiman has secured a master’s degree in Hydrogen Technology, setting a milestone as the first Nigerian to achieve this certification.
Aisha bagged her master’s degree in Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Technology at the University of Rostock (Universität Rostock) in Rostock Germany. She also achieved a milestone as the first-ever Nigerian with a master’s in Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Technology.
She posted about her remarkable accomplishment on Linkedin, describing the 28 months she spent studying for the course as an adventure full of worthwhile opportunities and experiences.

Aisha said one of the benefits she received was the mobility component of the program, which allowed her to study in three different countries. She studies in Togo, Germany, and the Niger Republic.
She said the program allowed her to spend four months at a French institute in Togo, where she was able to learn French. She claimed that she worked and studied with amazing people from 15 West African nations as well as the European Union during the trip, which enhanced her development on both a personal and professional level.
Being the first Nigerian to enroll in the specialized course through this program, Aisha said the accomplishment marks a critical turning point in her academic and professional journey. She claimed to be a global professional with a degree in green hydrogen and renewable energy.
She conveyed her appreciation to the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), which provided full funding for the program, and the West African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL). She said that the journey would not have been feasible without their assistance.
Aisha said she is excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead in the renewable energy and green hydrogen sector. She added that she is eager to see where the knowledge and experience will take her in the pursuit of a sustainable and green energy future.
