A 67-year-old man fulfills his aim of graduating from college by earning a bachelor’s degree with a grade of above 70%.
Frederick Olaseinde, a resolute 67-year-old, has obtained a bachelor’s degree with more than 70% grade point at Covenant University in Nigeria, fulfilling his aim of obtaining a university education.
Frederick Olaseinde earned a second-class upper 3.52 total grade point average while earning his first bachelor’s degree in business administration from Covenant University in Ogun, Nigeria.
Frederick told TheCable Lifestyle that he was driven to pursue the degree in spite of his advanced age because he wanted to satisfy his desire for knowledge, which he was unable to do when he was younger.
“I did Business Administration, having had four reasons to justify returning to school. I wanted to satiate my passion for study; to be current and relevant. At this age, I ought not to return to university,” he said.
According to Fredrick, he was turned down for a degree when he wanted to, but he is happy to take advantage of the opportunity now that it has arrived. He went on to say that despite not having a university degree, he had earned an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), professional organization certifications, and sandwich courses.
“The time I ought to have gotten educated, I was denied of it. Doing so now is me being restored. I haven’t had a university degree before. The other ones I had were the OND, Sandwich courses, and those of professional bodies,” Frederick said.
He also described how his classmates and family were astounded by his perseverance to achieve his objectives and engage in a university program at the age of 62.

It wasn’t until I was admitted that I told my wife. Until I handed her my admittance letter, she assumed I was kidding,” he continued.
Frederick stated that he is an entrepreneur and that he is certain the degree would have a big impact on his company. He went on to say that he intended to use the degree to further his business, not to find employment.
He claimed to be able to carry out the required research and to have the digital know-how to support the expansion of his company.
“I own my own business. Despite the fact that I won’t be accepting a paycheck, this degree will undoubtedly help me with my business. It will enable me to successfully grow my company. I am able to conduct the necessary research. “I am proficient in digital,” he declared.
According to Frederick, at first, people were astounded by his choice to seek the degree and had doubts about his ability to finish the five-year program. But he was an engaged student who regularly attended lessons because he was determined and enthusiastic.
It wasn’t simple. It was difficult at first. I purchased books, made use of the library, and hired math tutors from lecturers. The load was less in my second year. With my printer and computer, I had a library at home,” he remarked.
Frederick emphasized that people who do not stop cannot be stopped and that his message to others is to be tenacious and unwavering. He went on to say that one’s age shouldn’t be a barrier to achieving their objectives.
I barely missed the first class, so I came out with a second-class upper. All I can say is that people should remain resolute. If someone didn’t stop themselves first, there’s no stopping them. He stated that age shouldn’t be a hindrance.
