A brilliant Nigerian woman achieves great success in the UK, obtaining a master’s degree and a full-time job with the UK government.
Roqeebat Hammed, a bright Nigerian woman, has accomplished extraordinary achievement in the UK by obtaining a master’s degree and landing a full-time job with the government of her own country right after graduation.
Roqeebat graduated from the University of York in the United Kingdom with a master’s degree in economics. On Linkedin, she announced that she had received the student ambassador award in addition to her degree.
Additionally, she announced on LinkedIn that she had landed a position in the UK as an assistant economist. One of her biggest accomplishments as an international student, she said, was being named the University of York’s 2023 International Student Ambassador.
It was one of the most rewarding moments of her academic career, according to Roqeebat. She praised her own efforts, such as reviving the Nigeria Society and establishing it as a household name among the marketing staff.

She claimed it seemed unreal to be at the Department for Education in the United Kingdom. As an economist with a focus on the Economics of Development, Roqeebat said she has read a lot about the world’s developed economies, including the UK.
Roqeebat claimed that completing the demanding application process, which began in January 2023, was no small accomplishment. She claimed to have passed the second phase’s stringent inspection after completing two tests and two academic transcripts.
She also mentioned that she studied for her second-term master’s test while simultaneously preparing for and participating in a three-hour virtual evaluation and interview procedure in the third stage.
Roqeebat added that after receiving a tentative offer, she had to undergo a second, two-month background investigation. She claimed that the procedure required a great deal of fortitude, faith in her own ability to be chosen for this position, and dependence on God’s patience.
Prior to receiving a scholarship to pursue her postgraduate studies at the University of York, Roqeebat graduated with first-class honors from Obafemi Awolowo University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
