Chicago scholar Theresa surmounted both emotional and financial obstacles to earn two postgraduate degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary and Walden University.
According to Black News, she accomplished a remarkable academic achievement that is evidence of her tenacity and fortitude. Theresa earned a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from the McCormick Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Healthcare Administration (DHA) from Walden University.
She stated that among the difficulties she encountered while obtaining the degree were personal hardships and the exorbitant expense of postsecondary education in the United States.
Some of the personal hardships she encountered include the loss of two close friends and a family member throughout the six years. Despite these sad losses, she continued her pursuit of academic excellence.
She went on to say that she worked summer jobs due to financial difficulties and frequently relied on a single subway meal per day to pay for her studies.
Theresa finished two dissertations, one for each course, and she appeared before two different committees of subject-matter experts six times to defend her work. She said that her intelligence was shown by her exceptional academic performance and capacity to perform well under duress.
Theresa thanked her friends for their constant comfort and her family for their unfailing support. She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her at the most trying time in her life.
