A Nigerian-American woman who had a desire of becoming a doctor since she was nine years old fulfills it, making her mother and family proud.
Adeiyewunmi Osinubi is a bright Nigerian American woman who, at the age of nine, realized her dream of becoming a doctor.
In Rhode Island, USA, Adeiyewunmi Osinubi studied medicine at Brown University. To support her desire to become a doctor, her parents gave her a white coat with her name embroidered on it and a stethoscope for her ninth birthday.

She celebrated being a doctor in the United States of America (USA) at the age of 25 sixteen years later. She shared her experience on Instagram, saying that having a picture of your ambitions to reflect on and look back on has a really potent effect.
She described her mother, who is also a medical doctor as the reason for her becoming a physician and her inspiration.
During her study at Brown University, USA, Osinubi was named an Under 30 Scholar by Forbes and was recognised for her documentary addressing Black Maternal Health Disparities among black women in America.
Apart from the unending support she got from her parent, Osinubi recalled benefitting from numerous university grants, local health organizations, and personal savings to fund her medical school as well as her career in filmmaking.
Osinubi expressed her excitement for the advancement of numerous Black leaders in the United States of America in her Instagram post.
“May we fervently and unapologetically affirm their visions and dreams as we nurture the next generation of Black leaders, change-makers, and visionaries,” she said.
